We’re encouraging children to flex their creative muscles as well as their physical ones. After they’ve taken part in all the Sports Slam activities, we want them to create a sports challenge for others to complete – awarding big prizes to the most creative and popular sport challenge video idea.
All schools that sign up will receive exclusive access to discounted sports equipment, inclusive lesson plans and free resources to inspire and support children. Plus, there are Sports Direct product prizes to be won. It’s all to play for!
Sports Slam will be launching on April 18th and taking place during National School Sports Week on the 19th of June 2023. This is our official launch date and targeted week but if you want to you can do it on a week that works better for your school.
Sports Slam is free and all about inspiring and engaging children to get 60 active minutes a day, through fun and inclusivity in sports.
All schools to sign up will be in with a chance to receive a Sports Slam kit bag filled with sports equipment for the school, exciting Sports Slam activities and supporting resources.
If you don’t receive one, don’t worry. We will still supply all schools who sign up with all the Sports Slam resources they need to take part. Including digital downloads of the Sports Slam Activities and Challenges.
We will email all schools that are successful after the sign-up process is complete, so keep an eye on your inbox, and of course, your junk mail. This email will also contain information on when you will receive your Sports Slam kit packs.

Create Your Own Viral Sport Challenge! The most creative and popular 60-second viral sports challenge will win sports products from Sports Direct. That’s a lot of new sports goodies that can help children play for fun, play for 60. Encourage your children to be as creative as possible!
Submit children’s entries anytime between 18th April 2023 and 25th June 2023.
We’ll have a panel of sporting and educational professionals on-hand to look through your new, engaging viral challenge videos. Where creativity, inclusivity and fun shines through the most, that’ll be our winner. Competition voting will be happening between 26th June 2023 and 7th July 2023.
It’s simple, just upload your sports challenge video online and tag both Sports Direct and Youth Sport Trust, with the #playfor60challenge hashtag easy!
