Can multiple teachers sign up from one school?

One teacher per school is perfect. You only need to sign up once to receive all that Sports Slam has to offer.

What do we need to take part in Sports Slam?

If you’re one of the lucky 1,500 schools to sign up first, a kit pack is supplied for approximately 60 children to take part, at any one time.

For later sign ups, or more printed materials, you’ll need a printer, a big space for the activities, and your school’s current equipment. You’ll also receive a 20% discount to buy additional kit from Sports Directory, if needed, to partake in Sports Slam.

Then, depending on your school’s structure, you may find having a teaching assistant on hand can support you in the lessons.

All lesson plans to take the classes will be available to download in your account area on the Sports Slam website.

Is there an entry fee?

Sport Slam is all about showcasing the joy of sport to children. So there is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to the programme.

What will you get if you sign up?

The first 1,500 schools to sign up will receive a Sports Slam kit bag filled with sports equipment for the school, exciting Lesson Plans and Activity Sheets. There will also be Sports Slam Passports, enough for up to 60 children, to help them find their new favourite sport.

If you aren’t able to sign up that fast, don’t worry. We are also supplying digital downloads of the Lesson Plans and Passports, alongside a 20% discount voucher for Sports Directory to go towards any necessary new equipment.

That’s not all. All children who complete Sports Slam can take their printed Passport to their local Sports Direct and get a 20% discount on any equipment they want to use at home. They will have to have an adult with them, and the discount is only available to use once.

How do you know if you’re one of the first 1,500 schools?

We will email all schools who were one of the first 1,500 to sign up, so keep an eye on your inbox, and of course, your junk mail.

If you are successful, this email will also contain information on when you will receive your kit packs.

I see there’s a competition, what prizes are up for grabs?

We have a few amazing opportunities for your school to win by submitting your best efforts.

Create Your Own Sport! The best new sport will win £5,000 of Sports Directory vouchers for their school. And the next 10 runners up, will win £1,000 of Sports Directory vouchers for their school. That’s a lot of new equipment that can help children along their sporting journey. Encourage your children to be as creative as possible!

All runners up will receive a 20% discount voucher to Sports Directory for taking part, so every school will take away a prize.

Submit your school’s entry anytime between Tuesday 3rd May 2022 and Friday 27th May 2022.

How are the Sports Slam winners chosen?

We’ll have a panel of sporting and educational professionals on-hand to look through your new, exciting sports. Where creativity and fun shines through the most, that’ll be our winner.

Competition voting will be happening between Monday 30th May 2022 and Friday 24th June 2022.

How will the winners be contacted?

The winners for each competition element will be contacted via the email address they used to register for Sports Slam.

Winners will be announced between 27th June 2022 and mid-July, keep an eye on your inboxes and junk mail.
